ITAD was founded in 1987 by a professional group coordinated by his manager Dr. Eduardo Brik; mainly, the first target was offering a complete treatment in Alcohol and Drug problems in a Systemic Family Therapy standpoint.
In Alcohol and Drugs problems our acting areas are:
- Clinical Diagnosis.
- Family, Couple and Individual and Group Therapy.
- Teaching Institution / Formation.
- Investigation.
ITAD in Madrid (Spain) was pioneering in the treatment of alcohol and drugs dependences
For achieving these targets, ITAD provides a specialized team in the different areas above mentioned. ITAD offers an adequate infrastructure and a new place, which responds to the following criterions:

Assistance area. In the course of the years, ITAD has extended his area of intervention in different Psychological and Psychiatric Programs of treatment that responds to the currently felt needs that population ask for:
- Family disorders.
- Couple disorders.
- Eating disorders.
- Difficulties in families with one member with a Physical or Psychic disability Cross-cultural and migrations issues.
- Affective Disorders (Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar disorders and Psychotic disorders, etc.).
Teaching area. ITAD also is a teaching institution in Systemic Family Therapy and Constructivism approach. It’s endorsed on a national level by Spanish Federation of Family Therapy Association (FEATF) and in a European level by European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), being a main referral in Madrid and other Spanish cities such as Murcia , Mallorca and cities of Castilla La Mancha.
ITAD offers training in Madrid lead for professional people that work in Mental Health (Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Nurses) Social Workers and students of the last years in their careers.
